it’s that time of month when we talk about how much archer is growing and changing.
our 8 month old:
-pulls up on stuff. this is terrifying. first he hangs out on his knees and then somehow maneuvers his feet flat on the ground. and stands up. i’m just hoping he doesn’t bust his chin or fall in the toilet or any other horror story you hear about babies in this stage.
-army crawls using a strange frog leg/breast stroke movement. he’s fast.
-does the booty scoot by pulling himself around with his hands.
-vocalizes all the time. i am just waiting for “papa” to escape because that’s his favorite person. other than me, obviously. hah!
-puts everything in his mouth. everything.
-hates shopping and getting his diaper changed. finally calmed down about car rides, though.
-eats 3 solid meals a day, not including nursing. i let him pretty much lead the way. and boy, he lets me know that he wants more. or doesn’t.
-poops and it’s stinky.
-naps around 10 and 2. i feed him and he usually doesn’t fuss too much. the naps are anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour.
-goes to bed between 7 and 7:30. he still wakes up 2 or 4 or 5 times a night. the last time is because his diaper is leaking. he insists on sleeping on his tummy, and i don’t know how to avoid the front leak. pointers are welcome. sadly, he rarely sleeps with me anymore. in the morning i bring him in and sometimes he’ll give me another hour of glorious cuddly sleep.
-makes friends with everyone he meets. he’s the shiniest, loviest, cutest babe in america. my little bug.
